My young neighbor came out to help me this morning as I was putting up a new fence. She was laughing as she got there and told me of a text conversation she had last night. She had put in for a 'Culligan Water' representative to come to her house to see about installing a water softener. So she got a text at 11pm last night from the guy about him being at her house at 11am this morning. Said she was nearly asleep when the text arrived and didn't immediately respond. About ten minutes later she got a text from the same number telling her he had too much going on to put up with her sh+t of not responding. Kinda shocked she sat there and stared at her phone and a few minutes later received another text telling her that she was just "a demon with t1ts" and he wasn't putting up with her disrespect. And it went on for a little bit longer.

Said she had been called a lot of things in her life but never a 'Demon with t1ts'!

Now she is a tough independent young lady who has used about every tool I have and will work me into the ground but this scared her. Her husband is a no nonsense deputy sheriff and was on patrol so she called him and he made two or three passes thru our neighborhood. HE is not a person who responds well to his family being threatened.

This morning she has contacted all the Culligan Water people she can reach and told them of the threats so hopefully this guy will be fired.

Then the "Demon with T1ts" proceeded to carry two 12' long 1x6 popular boards at a time to help me put my fence up. We finished today even with all the neighbors stopping to talk. These talkers included two ladies walking dogs (at different times), one man without a dog, and a man and his wife. My young neighbor has lived in the neighborhood for one summer and hadn't met everybody but working outside by the road with "the old man in the neighborhood" she is meeting all of them.

😳 If all that happened is the guy got fired, I would say that he got off lucky, and I hope that somebody in LEO (not her husband!) reminds him of that.

Geesh.

All the best, Peter

My beloved Ruby dog would rip my arm off if I talked to her that way. She's a mean b!t@h to a groundhog. He was probably drunk.

Rhodesian ridge back? Originally bred to hunt and corner lions?

"One rainy night, and two misty mornings will rot down the best pople fence a man can build"

Perhaps the woman's touch will prevent decay, but I doubt it.

I now have one of those, too. Called "The son I never had". Taught her how to bale hay, weld, and she returns the favors. When I can't find a tool, I just look where it actually belongs because she returned it to there ! I'm lucky to have the new experiences every day. They say that's what keeps dementia at bay. Your brain gets in to a rut and stops 'recording'. The routines needed to process new material then just die away. Good youtube on this as an AI Richard Feynman lecture.

I would definitely contact Culligan - relay the "approach" of their tech - suggest they run him through their "community relations" program once more.

This could have had much more serious consequences if the tech was dealing with some form of hothead. Not too many husbands are going to like having their wife talked to like that.

I would definaltley reach out to the employer. They don't want people like this on their payroll.

Like someone said drunk or maybe another sent the text like a jealous girlfriend… wouldn’t be the first time…

It needs reporting in any case.

A friend had to break it off with his otherwise wonderful girlfriend…

She had a jealous or insecurity mode when it came to any female age 16 to 50…

Sounds like a nice fence, how about sharing some pictures of it. A drunk man with a cell phone can be dangerous.

Moral of the story: never, ever answer phone calls or texts when you are drunk. At 11 P.M. it can wait until the next day.

Don't text while drunk! He should've learned that at age 21.

I would definaltley reach out to the employer. They don't want people like this on their payroll.
I doubt he's an employee. If Culligan is like nearly every other installed appliance company, from woodstoves to standby generators, all of these guys are independent contractors.

That said, his contract could be canceled, and probably more easily and quickly than firing an actual employee.
