It's speculation on my part, but the phasing out of parts for these might have more to do with Yanmar than Deere. Yanmar built these John Deere tractors, and in Japan, and they do tractors a little different. A Japanese car will be allowed to run on the road for something like 40,000 miles ( or there abouts in KM ) and have to get a new motor or be scrapped due to smog rules. I'm just guessing here, tractors might be the same deal in Japan, or anything with a motor. Many of the parts for the 850,950, and 1050 interchange with larger tractors like the Yanmar 2500,3000,3110,3220,3810 etc. When they discontinue using these in Japan and Japanese farmers change up to new models, it becomes a looser to continue the parts for a tractor they no longer have in country. At the same time, the interchangeable parts for the U.S. John Deere series becomes a problem as well. In Japan farming has a heavy gov subsidy. Sure the gov is telling them they must buy new tractors every so often, needed or not, for air quality issues like their cars. All of that takes us back here with the JD series. Sooner or later old production parts from Yanmar run out, and they aren't making any more. Thinking that soon our parts support for these will be from a salvage yard VS the JD dealer. It's almost a sure thing that JD also had in the contract for these tractors, something about a time limit on parts support. Unlikely JD would ever talk about this. Hope to be buying a newer tractor with a backhoe this summer. And this aspect of buying is becoming the focal point of my purchase. If it has been outscorced to another country outside the U.S. how long will it be supported. With this country outscorceing products more and more, this is going to become more of a issue with this and other products in years to come. Was considering the New Holland TC35 series, it is about the same size as the two I'm selling. Bet they are going to have the same problem even sooner. Sad to say, don't think anything this size is still made in this country ??
