I really don't think it should be this big of a pain. I changed out the steering box and when I went to put it all back together there is now clear path for the throttle rod. It came out really hard but I just figured it was rust and crud. I've got it back in (and because it was such a pain figured out I'm missing the spring on the bottom) but I've got 3 bends in the rod and it seems to work ok. The ball in the throttle arm is flat and I'll figure that out but is there suppose to be a clear path for the rod or is this typical

clear path for the rod.

if the ballis flat use a flat blade screwdriver to spread the metal, roll the ball over and then peend the sides a bit.

Wow I'm missing something big time. I can't even get a 1/4" rod down straight, It runs into a threaded sleeve. Yep the ball is flat and the bottom spring isn't there. I have a spring ordered
