8n rims

Anyone know if the 16 inch rims on my 8n can be replaced with the taller ?19's that i have seen on other N's?

Is the bolt pattern the same and the hub? Or will I have to cahnage hubs?

I bet this question was asked a lot in reverse when people wondered if they could replace the original equipment 19 inch wheels with the 16 inch implement wheels you now have on your 8N.

I could not even tell you how many (removed) tractors that my dad converted to 16" tires in front by cutting the centers outa the 19" wheels and welding them into an automobile wheel. We never had a Ford in our tractor stable but the neighbors all around us did. As soon as they had to buy new front rubber, away went the 19" tires and wheels.......especially if they got a front end loader. In those days, WAGNER loaders were the cats pajamas for the ferds and fergies. You know the ones.....where you climbed UP and OVER to get down to the cockpit.

you have to swap the hubs if i remember right, the 19" ran the old model a ford bolt patern with the large center. the 16" was small center hole and smaller bolt pattern.

I've heard that the 9N's had a different bolt pattern.. 5 lugs, but that the 6 lug 19" rims should fit the 8N... In any case, I'll know tomorrow morning.
