Hi, I am having a few problems with my 1982 international 885xl.
First off is with my hydraulics the arms raise fine but take forever to go down, is there a speed control lever somewhere?Thanks.

If the cylinders are double-acting, are you powering them down or are you just engaging the float position and allowing them to drop on their own?

If it is the latter, then perhaps you have bent the rods.

There is no assistor ram on it..so I presume that they ar ment to go down by themselves..
I put the bale lifter on an they go down a bit quicker, but still slow.

There should be a knob or adjustment under the seat that controls how fast the three point lowers, it's often called the ROD or rate of drop control.

There is a lever but it isn't attached to anything under the cab.
Am going to need a diagram or something.
My head is melted at this stage, don't know much about hydraulics.

Sorry Kev, I can't help more. This is not about hydraulics, but rather the controls on you machine since most if not all tractors have this type of control.

Yes, it should be reachable from the seat. Not familiar with your tractor, but some levers are labeled with a drawing of a turtle at the slow end and a rabbit for fast drop.
