I just bought a 820 John Deere, I think it is a 1968, I love old tractors especially John Deere.

This 820 has factory P/s and is a diesel it appears it has been well maintained.
I cant wait for warm weather to get here so I can tinker with it.

Old tractors are a fine hobby or in my case a hobby and a working tractor around the farm. The 820 is a fuel miser it don't waste a drop, and a great bush hogging tractor.

Can anyone give me some more information on the 820 or their opinion, I am always looking to learn . I feel when a man thinks he knows all there is to know , well, you guys get what I am saying .

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I have one, bought it used in 1997 and fixed ut up. Been a good tractor for me, still use it in nice weather. I like the feel of an open tractor on nice spring and summer days. Here are some pictures of mine with my helper trying out a new cultivator.

Duke
Photos are of a 1020, but sharp looking tractor nevertheless. :)

I remember when 820 3 cyl's were sold NEW. Service them before delivery, deliver them and rarely saw one come back in for warranty work. IIRC very few of the 820's sold at the dealership I worked for had power steering. The hyd's are a little different as it's open-center not closed-center.
