#1 Welcome. Nice to have a talkative Kubota dealer here. #2 Other than your personal feelings, what evidence do you have that Kioti uses a lower grade steel? Have you bothered to look at the state of the art Korean steel industry lately? They are producing the same quality steel as Japan but probably using more modern plants than the Japanese whose heyday in steel was twenty or thirty years ago. Where are the world's super tankers built today? Kubota builds lighter CUTs because most of them were initially sold as lawnmowers and for that use light weight is an advantage. Kioti builds more traditional heavy style tractors so benefits from the weight in some operations (ground engaging, loader etc) and gives up that light foot print advantage that sells so many Kubotas to suburbanites whose number one priority is mowing momma's grass. If I were just mowing lawns, I'd own a BX instead of a DK #3 That Kioti "uses lower grade steel" has been a Kubota marketing shibboleth for years. As best I can tell it is complete baloney. Exactly what "stress joints" are you referring to that are cracking? The old KL120/130 loader? That was a design defect (squared corners rather than rounded on a torque tube) and that issue was fixed seven or eight years ago. If you are referring to your experience with Bobcat loaders etc, be aware that Bobcat sourced it's own loaders and those were not built by Kioti (?even built in Korea). I have followed the Kioti threads here for many years and there has never been a problem with welds or steel quality in Kioti tractors. If there were there would be lots of posts on the matter. There are virtually none since the KL120/130 business was resolved. #4 Regarding dealership numbers, yes, if you need your hand held by a dealer, buy a JD or Kubota and get used to spending multiple hundreds of dollars every time you need the oil changed. I'm happy to talk to my dealer by phone and have him send me the supplies I need. So far the worst thing I've had to fix is to replace a cracked fuel bowl (under warranty). My tractor is now in it's eighth season and has never needed to go back to the shop. #5 Sell your Kubotas based on what they offer in features and performance, how reliable they are and what a great dealer you are. Don't bother trying to denigrate other brands to sell your premium priced machines. The old Kubota dealer negative talking points baloney doesn't work here on TBN. Save it for your naive customers. If you need to do that in order to compete with Kioti, tractor to tractor, something is wrong with Kubota (probably the price!). Instead just take the customer out to the lot and show him the $22000 Kubota that can lift 2700lbs+ at the pivot points. #6 Seriously, welcome to TBN. Discussions here can get feisty but I think we all benefit from vigorous debate more than just patting each other on the back with "atta boy" enthusiasm.
You Kioti guys feeling picked on lately? HS

The Ambassador is back on Planet Earth! How was your vacation on Zircon? Did they let you back in the playpen here or are you, like me, just participating as a tractor owner these days?

No color wars here. Just a newbie Kubota dealer repeating old gibberish. Just welcoming him to the club.

Ok you know what, Like I said I don't like bad mouthing any of the tractor brands, if they didn't make something that many didn't like then they wouldn't be in business, look, if you read the posts, someone asked my a question on what MY take on the Kioti, Mahinda, and some others were. I believe I stated clearly that it was just my opinion at that point. Hey, These machines are all built to do a job, the tractor is built for the individual that has a job to do, the individual can decide for themselves what is the right machine for them. However, if they ask someone for their open opinion, then they have every right to take into consideration that persons opinion or not. Is that fair to say? Im not coming on here to be attached by people who must have some atomic, hair trigger like emotions for their machines. Hey if a nut falls off your tractor & you hear from across your shop floor, do you super man dive over to it and zip it back on? for heaven sakes, don't shed tears, every single tractor make has a nut or bolt fall off, they all have weaknesses, they all have strengths, Its what gives each their "competitive advantage" if you have heard the term before. mmmk? fair to say? No, I'm sure someone has some sort of problem with that to. oh well dang gee wiz yall. I'm not going to be drug into bashing the competition like I said, and I don't believe I have, it was a question that was asked that I gave my opinion on while giving credit to Kioti from what I know of them. You don't think im going to come on here and bash Kubota now am I? No, if someone wanted to find out what others think about Kubota then they can certainly find that out as well, I am just about 3000% certain. Then if they are in the market for a tractor, they can weigh the options themselves, and may the best brand win. mmk? Fair? no im sure not fair at all. to the guy that was talking about the Bobcat loaders, Ill have to check my wording but I believe I said skid steer loaders, if not, then that's what I meant. The Bobcat tractor line we do not sell, let me state this, we don't sell it not because its Kioti and whatever pokes people want to make, we had a bobcat tractor on the lot when they first started the tractors but in wake of the "financial meltdown" what have you, Bobcat was going through some rough times & some changes, it didn't pan out. So the loaders you speak of to the bobcat tractors I couldn't tell you where they got them, I don't see why they wouldn't use the Kioti but hey, I see mismatched machines & loaders a lot so it happens. I did not experience any cracking on the one unit we had, of course it was new & in all fairness the customer I sold that only unit to I have not heard from since so it must be doing very well, I know he moved to Montana with it & said he had a dealer close to him there & he seemed very happy with his purchase. no go ahead, lets hear all your mouths start firing whatcha got. I have been fair I believe but someone is surely sighting me in right now with their little red dot and laser guided missile I can feel it burning the back of my head right now. lol, yall are fun. make sure you wipe that tear off your shop floor now, that's a no no.

Recall that I was replying to a post of yours in which you seemed to indicate some knowledge of steel quality differences. I just wanted to know what data you had on steel quality between orange tractor brands. We've heard that canard about Kubota steel a lot around here, almost exclusively from Kubota dealers. None of the Mahindra or Kioti customers seem to complain about their lower priced steel however. Me thinks the steel is the same. I suspect Kubota marketing at one time thought that argument would sell. It keeps being repeated but we've never heard any data on the subject from Kubota. How do you know the Kubota steel is any better than anyone elses? In God we trust, all others must show data.

And, FYI, Murphy is right, using paragraphs and spacing makes posts a lot easier to read.

Ovr N Out,

Sometimes when I get off my L3800 seat, the tractor cuts off (not talking about when the PTO is running because it should cut off then). Anyway, I'm assuming it's a faulty switch or something, but only see one switch under my seat. I assume that switch is the safety switch to shut the tractor down if I stand up when PTO is engaged.

What should I look for to fix this where it will stay running like it used to when I put brake on and get off?
