Follow up question: The steering is much improved however it is still hard to turn when sitting still. I checked the pressure at pump and it around 1100 psi. It seems to get harder to turn the longer(warmer) I drive it

Getting the steering to operate while standing still requires more effort than when traveling. Front weights add increased resistance as well. Has anyone greased the front spindles lately? Quite often people think they have a power steering problem and it turns out to be rust and crud buildup in the spindles where grease SHOULD be.

good thinking. I already greased everything when i first bought it a month ago. the pump whines as well

Old topic, but I have a similar issue. Can someone point me where I need to fill the steering fluid?

You're talking a 7710? Left side of engine, barrel tank with a silver dollar sized cap. Fill with hydraulic fluid to lower edge.

Awesome! Found it. After reading many threads on the subject, I'm thinking about adding some fluid and see if it makes any difference. It has been working great since I bought it, but last week my neighbor used it to load some hay bales and it's been acting up since then. While I don't see any leak around the steering hydraulics (my bucket loader leaks though), would it be safe to add some steering repair fluid like "Bar's Leaks Power Steering Repair Fluid" to troubleshoot? Thanks for all your help!! I'm new to tractors...
