Deere 770
I recently bought a '95 770 4WD (serial number 100,000 plus). The seller didn't have the operator's manual, so I bought one from my dealer. The manual says the PTO HP is 20. The 2004 Used Tractor Price Guide shows it as 24. The manual also says the weight is 2150 pounds and the UTPG shows it at 2355 pounds. The UTPG shows the '98 770 4WD at 20 PTO HP, so I'm wondering if my Deere manual only reflects the '98 model?

The 770's engines produces 24 HP Gross. The 20 HP you're discussing is the PTO Horsepower. Some sites list gross HP, some list the more accurate PTO (or draw bar) HP.

The weight is closer or a little less then the lower weight (2150#). The higher weight could reflect the tractor with weights or filled tires. Definitely doesn't include the loader, as the #70 loader weighs between 600 and 700 lbs.

Nice tractor, the 770...
