It is typical to have circuit relief valves in a backhoe valve stack. They protect individual circuits/functions from being damaged by other circuits/functions operating at high pressures and with a mechanical advantage over the protected circuit. Circuit reliefs are always set at some value above system relief. A problem with a circuit relief valve will only affect that particular circuit unless another functions is used simultaneously, then both are affected.
