What would cause glow plug light to stay on after starting? Bob

Going to guess a little here........
On my 855 the pre heater light cycles for about 30 seconds or so.
I wonder if you start the motor before that time is up it continues to finish its cycle ?
Or if it stays on a significant amount of time after starting, that could be a problem with the timer ??

On my 955 it will stay on and finish the cycle.

Hello! Here's my problem 755 engine began getting harder to start! Checked glow plugs working but installed new ones! Still hard to start had to boost battery every time cranked and cranked finally would start ! Then wouldn't start at all! Fuses good fuel shutoff solenoid working! A lot of light gray smoke then wouldn't start at all crank an crank nothing replaced injectors still nothing about st my wits end with it!!!! Help

Check you glow plug control module also Time delay module on some diesels. I would also get the TM manuals.

Thanks I think it only has a glow plug relay on firewall. I think there around 70 bucks

You said you put in new glow plugs and that they are working ----- you did say that, correct. I'll assume that there isn't any need to ask how you know. Beyond that, a diesel needs fuel, compression and air. Check all three --- clean fuel filter? Clean fuel?? When you replaced the injectors, did you bleed the fuel system through the injectors?? Clean air filter??? What's the compression ---- should be around 450 psi or so?? If all three are good and nobody messed with the engine timing, it will run.
