Hi all. While moving dirt today (a lot) my tractor started surging to the point that it would die. It will start and idle fine but as soon as I touch the fuel it dies. Are there any issues other than filters that I should be concerned about!
THANKS

Check the plug in wires up on the fuel injection pump.

Connections looked good so I wiggled them to be sure. Tractor would'nt start so I wiggled them again and it fired right up. Will replace connectons asap. Thanks

Replaced connectors on fuel pump and it did help, but the tractor still defuels almost to the point of stalling when I let off the throttle.
Have only had the tractor two weeks (bought it used) but I must admit when it is running right it very impressive. Still waiting for the subframe to mount the 611.

Check/change fuel filter, or fuel filters if this has two on it. If that does not help, there is a hose running from the fuel tank to the fuel filter assembly. It connects via a banjo bolt, basically a hollow bolt. That passage is small and sometimes crud from the tank will get into that hollow and cut off 98% of your fuel flow. Sort of an unintentional pre-filter. :(

Thanks Dave. I bled the two fuel canisters into a clear jar,and it revealed water and other contamination. I also bled some from the fuel tank, now the tractor runs great. Have a complete set of filters ordered, looking forward to doing a complete service on the tractor.

Do your self a favor. Get at least two complete sets of fuel filters. Always keep a spare set on the shelf. No waiting that way. One other thing. Change out the filters at a minimum of every six months if you are not putting the hours on it.
