7510 vs 7610

( Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I am pretty much decided on the 7610. I got a quote last week for a 7610, LA352 FEL, and Woods BB60 Bush Hog for $14,200. Is this in the ballpark? I am going to call the dealer back and get a new quote with a MMM instead of the Bush Hog as I have a buddy I can borrow a Bush Hog from. I'll keep y'all updated and thanks again! )

Sounds like a good quote. My quote was $13,750 for just the B7610, LA352FEL, R4's, and folding ROPS.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. Here is what it looks like. All these quotes are with FEL, and R-4 tires.
7510 - $12,200
7610 - $12,800
7800 - $14,800
These are the best prices I have found so far - how do they compare? The 7800 came in under budget, but I am thinking I could get a good used RFM and maybe even a used trailer and still be close to budget with the 7610. I'm making the decision tomorrow, so any last input is welcome. Thanks!

I have under 2 acres and just love my 7510. Most of it is not wooded. It does everything I need and more. The cut is superb with the 60in MMM and the 302 FEL is more than ample for most tasks. I did not justify spending 1k additional for the extra HP as this workhorse did not need it. I have pulled my 16ft trailer with haybales and 12 kids on the back on a hay ride with no worries. Either way I think you would not be sorry.

Those deals are not too bad. They seem to be about $400 high in my opinion but if you like the dealer, $400 shouldn't make a difference. For reference I just bought a B7510, LA 302 FEL, 60" MMM, and 48" BB for $13,700 delivered to my front door. The tractor and FEL were roughly $11,800.

The 7510 is a fine machine, I had a 7500 for 3 years and it performed well for me - But...

If in any way you can swing the 7800, do it. It's a great machine and can tackle the unforseen big jobs you will have down the road better than the smaller tractors.

If the 7800 was available when I was looking in 02, I would have bought it and probably not traded up for the tractor I have now.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger! Just ordered the B7610 with FEL, filled R4 tires, and dealer installed hooks on the FEL. Final price out the door is $12,900. I will be picking it up later this week and will definitely post some pics. Thanks for the help everyone!

Congratulations! I really don't think you'll be sorry that you went for the bigger of the two. Get those pictures up when you get it!

Well, finally picked her up on Monday! Haven't had much time to play with her yet, but I'm planning on bush hogging my 5.5 acres on Saturday. My buddy sold me his old king kutter 5' bush hog for dirt cheap so I'm in business. Here is a pic of the 7610 on her ride home. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Ok, let me try this again. I think the first pic was too large in size to post.

Trailer was 16' long. Borrowed it from a buddy, but am trying to persuade him to sell! I'm looking for a trailer also and would not go any shorter than 16' if you are planning on hauling your tractor with any attachments hooked up to the back.

Is it possible to put the 7610 in a 8 foot trailer by raising the loader up and then resting it on the back support wall of the trailer just to take it to the dealer which is about 12 miles away?

I don't have one and have only read about a similar problem in another post. The poster said he uses a 10' landscape trailer to transport his 7610, but he said he takes the FEL off.
If I can find the post I will put the link up on this board.

I'm trying to avoid making the same mistake you did. The B3030 is about $4,000 more than a B7610, or about a 37% price increase. 37% seems like a lot. So does $4,000 when you are looking at a tractor that is about $10,500. However, if you are also getting lots of extras, like TnT, hydraulic box scraper, landscape rake, tiller, mower, toothbars, pallet forks etc., now you are in the mid $20k range, and the $4,000 increase is more like 15%. Add a backhoe and it drops even lower. What do you get for that 15%:
25% or more capacity in just about any function you can think of. All of your attachments will work better.

Postion control.

3 range HST

adjustable cruise control

telecoping 3PH lift arms

tilt steering

4 point instead of 3 point backhoe attachment

rear hydrualic outlet
The above is a bargain for just 15% more. All but the last two are sure to make your life easier, even if you feel you don't need them.

So you probably think I'm sold on the B3030 over the B7610. Not really. There's always convincing the CF0 why I am spending $4k more than I first told her (actually $10k more than I first told her, and $4k more than I told her the 2nd time).

The other issue is that the B3030 might be too big. I have a 5' by 10' landscape trailer that should be able to handle the B7610 (minus all attachments) without much problem. I can always put attachments on pallets and make a separate trip. The extra 500 lbs of the B3030 pushes it beyond my comfort zone for the trailer, especially for the 65 mile trip to the dealer. Then there is also the issue of fitting into some of the smaller spaces in my yard, and lawn damage from the extra weight. Bottom line is I'm willing to pay the extra $4k for the B3030 features, but I'm not so sure I'm willing to take on the extra size and weight.

It was Seapea that posted this. I couldn't attach link. Doesn't look like he had tried hauling at the time of this post. I'd contact him and ask how it went. Let me know afterward please. Just curious /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The problems you may get into is proper weight distribution and overloading the trailer.
