7500 v. Boomer

Which and why, boys, assuming (as I do) that either will do the jobs I have plannned (keeping up five acres of field and brush)?

What size Boomer? I think the line of Boomers roughly equates to the full B-series line (excepting the BX).

tom: asuming u are matching the 7500 to the correct size boomer. i vote for the 7500. i looked at all the big 3, ford, jd,and kubota.kubota seemed to give u all the features in one tractor. can not really give u one particular reason why i picked kubota. just appeared to be more tractor for the money. all are fine machines, so the choice is yours.

I agree with frank_f15 except I went with the Boomer! Best thing is to try them all and see which one suits your needs.

hey tom,
i looked at all 3 colors also and went with the bx2200. the tc18 and the b7500 are around the same price. the b7500 i think is more tractor for the money. what are you gonna be doing besides mowing? is there any hills or steep areas? swampy spots?

My property is five acres, fairly steep and somewhat rough in spots, with about 2.5 acres in what will be pasture when I get done clearing the brush and about 2.5 acres in timber. I want to clear brush and maintain paths through the timber. I really like the BX but have the sense that the 7500 and the equivient sized Boomer are "more tractor" than the BX in the sense that they have better ground clearance and stronger hydrolics. From what I can tell, the only potential "advantage" of the BX is the increased stability which arises from its lower center of gravity.

I have been comparing these two models myself, in fact I was at the Boomer dealer today. Instead of the previous " seemed like more tractor" I will give you my unbiased opinion since I am deciding between the two as well. The B7500, and the TC21D are very close in specifications. Here is the Kubota advantage; more loader capacity available ( LA302), quieter engine, smoother hydro pedal, and lastly, lower in price by about $700. The New Holland TC21D is a really nice rig, I am just trying to justify the extra cost. Here are the Boomer advantages; POSITION control on the 3 point hitch, foldable ROPS, much brighter headlights, separate power steering system that does not bleed hydro power from tractor, cruise control (I can't recall if the B7500 has this), heavier castings in the tractor mid section. If the two tractors cost the same, I would buy the Boomer, but since the price for the tractor, loader, and belly mower exceeds 15,000 I am vasilating between the two. The engine size is the same, the dimensions are very close, I am going to drive a B7500 again before I make up my mind.

I also was faced with this decision and settleed on the TC 21 D Boomer. I just liked the NH better. Both are excellent and a person won't go wrong either way.

My B7500 came with a foldable ROPS and does have cruise control.

The B7500 should come standard with the foldable ROPS. If it doesn't have it, it's been sitting around for a few months as Kubata switched to the foldable version around December or January. The B7500 also has cruise control (which I never use).

I also think the B7500 is seriously under-rated as far as power is concerned. Comparing the power curves of the 1 liter engine in the B7500 versus the 1.1 liter engine in the B2410, the 1 liter actually puts out more HP sometimes. (lower torque though).
