Hi all,
Quick question - Would a powered implement for a 7100D fit a 6100HST-E? An example of what I'm talking about would be a snowblower from a 7100. It's at the back of my mind that the mid-PTO's of the two machines are possibly located in different areas or facing opposite directions. Anyone know if I'm remembering correctly or if they will fit?

Thanks for your time,
Mike

Hello,
I think the difference is due to the transmission. As I recall from earlier posts, you have a gear transmission, correct? Mine is the HST and does have the Mid-PTO for MMM's. You have to remember that the HST's were envisioned as mowing tractors primarily thus the need for the PTO.

Take Care,
Mike

Well, I answered my own question! I got to thinking about how everything is set up after trying to explain the mid-PTO on a 6100 and remembered something crucial. They ARE opposite. If you look at a MMM from a 7100, the gearbox faces forward (showing the the mid-PTO is roughly at the front of the transmission). On a deck for a 6100 with the mid-PTO, it faces BACKWARDS (showing the mid-PTO to be at the rear of the transmission just under the seat). I also looked at a photo of a 7100 deck on eBay and it looks like the shaft ends are opposite. The 7100 I saw was a female end attached to the gearbox. On the 6100 deck it is a male end.

So, probably, the 7100 attachments WON'T work at least without a lot of customizing and possibly making new parts. Bad for me, but maybe this info will be useful to someone else on the board.

Take Care,
Mike
