Planters 71 flex planter

Hi guys i need some help on how to adjust my planting depth wi.th the cam thats on the planter .First how low do i set my tool bar its a4 inch square one .with my 3 pt hitch so the cam will touch on the stop . when i move the cam to different settings but if i move the tool bar up it a bit it will not toutch so i really do not know ware to set my tool bar thanks

Welcome new member. I have newly aquire 4 row 71 JD planter and I downloaded the manual for Yetter web site. Yetter make the 71 planter now. I needed the 9 tooth sprokets and had to go to JD for them $13, ouch. JD has a pretty good parts site you might look at that. bjr

You want to position the tool bar so that the suspension (of the planter) is approx. midway through it's travel when planting to allow good "float" up and down.
