7' Blower on TC33DA??

just like the title says, will a TC33DA handle a 7' rear mounted snowblower?
I have a chance to buy one for about $1000 in very good condition. Has hydraulic rotation. I'm cleaning a 1/3 mile gravel driveway that has some drifting problems. Biggest drift is usually about 2-3 feet deep and 100 yards long. I've been using a 7' rear blade but the driveway gets narrow pretty quickly and requires a lot of loader time to push the edges back.

You don't normally get to much snow there but I'd not recommend it even with a hydro for the versatility of the speed incase you might get a good snow. The other thing that might be a problem is the weight of it.

Yeah, I was concerned about the weight. The 3pt is rated at 1635lbs @24 inches back. As far as snow, we get a good bit. Nothing like New England but usually about 150-200 inches a year. We get a fair amount of lake effect off of Erie. Most events are 3-6 inches, although its not uncommon to get a 10-12" in a storm, usually a couple dumps of a foot or more each season. Typically for me, drifting is a bigger problem than the actual amount of snowfall.

I think that's an awfullly big blower for a TC33. I'd try to get a 5 footer if it was me.

You can always slow down, but judging by how yesterday's heavy 12" of snow was bogging my 4' blower on my TC18, I'd say it is too big. A 6 footer would be about right if you don't get big dumpings of snow often.

The better question is - Should I upgrade to a TC45DA so I can run my new 7' blower...

Good idea, except I'd have to upgrade to a bigger barn to keep it in and probably a new wife as well.......

I run a Woods SS74 (which is just a bit over 6') on my TC33D. I don't think it's too big at all. If the snow is deep, or really dense I have to slow down a bit, but it does a very nice job.

A 5 foot wide snowblower would be too small. It wouldn't be wide enough to cover your TC33DA tire tracks.

I run a Meteor 75 inch (6 ft, 3 inch) wide blower with no problem on my TC33DA. As others have said, just slow down in deep or wet snow.

I don't know what the 7 foot blower you're considering weighs, but I can't imagine it exceeding the capacity of your 3PH. My very slightly smaller unit only weighs 680 lbs.
