Need help, installed the backhoe onto my JD 770 tractor, it was tricky being I have never done it before, After installing it I have been unable to keep the inner locking slot locked. The #7 attaches using two slots, the rear ones under the PTO and an inner locking set just inside the rear tires. Each time I tried to use the back hoe the bar slides out of the inners locking slots, I guess they may be broken. I have no plans on ever removing the backhoe attachment, so I thought that I would have the slot locks tacked welded to keep the bar in place so I can get use the back hoe. Has any one ever welded this area and does it hold? Welcome feed back. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sounds more likely something isn't being properly locked in place than damaged. Don't think I'd be doing any welding. Do you have a manual. I have one for the #7, but not sure if it covers the 770. I'll look if I remember.

I have the book and it does show how the bar is locked into the slots, and I check to make sure everything is locked, but they must be damaged, because they do not keep the bar tight in the slot, they become dislodged.
