"Never thought I'd see the day. Somewhere there is a sad, rejected 670 looking for a new home. Kinda makes me sad "

Don't be sad... I've had one call from a potential buyer already...might be another one tonight or tomorrow. Gentleman I bought the 790 from e-mailed me this info today, but I got the first call before I read the e-mail.

Congratulations Roy, Good lookin setup. They sure are tough looking. Must be the Green that makes'em look mean. My cousin at the beginning of spring just bought a 790. I do believe you helped him a little with some questions.

His user name was SCMAC. He has a dialup connection and can't stand getting on the internet. I told him I would post some pictures of his tractor but, he hasn't got around to taking them yet. I keep telling him he's missing a great knowledge source here on TBN. Oh well maybe he'll change his service someday to the broad band service that now runs through his area. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"Now all I need to do is figure out how to get it in the garage."

Well, it took some work, but I did get the 790 in the garage! Down side is I cannot leave implements connected to it as this machine is somewhat bigger then my old 670. Still thinking about that. I prefer to keep the RFM hooked up during mowing season and the rear blade during Winter, but it's not a real big deal if I can't.

Maybe it's time for an equipment building...

The 670 was on the dealer's lot less then three days before it was sold. The dealer got pretty close to what I paid for it almost three years ago! The gentleman who wanted to buy the machine called me the Tuesday after the tractors were traded. We discussed usage and maintenance. Then, he bought it.... I'm sure he'll get many happy hours of work out of the fine little tractor.

Well, Men and Ladies...looks like a pretty happy end to this thread!

Roy:

How's the 790 working out? The guard on my 770 doesn't have the center verticle or center cross piece. Not as much protection as yours, but easy to access the battery. Have you worked that problem out yet?

"Have you worked that problem out yet?"

No, not yet...
I did check the battery compartment as best I could to ensure none of the corrosion problems that plagued the 790's a year or so ago existed, however.

As far as the tractor...it's really nice. Plenty of power (for what I need) and I have modified my tooth bar (from the 670) to fit the wider bucket of the 790.

I guess the only downside is I can't drive the tractor as far into the garage (due to the door motor) which means I can't park the loader as close to the back of the garage as I used to with the #60 FEL off the 670. That leaves some wasted space... I've got to leave my grader blade outside on a pallet for the time being. That grader blade is probably as old as most TBNer's and spent most the time outside, so I'm not overly concerned.

As there have been posts concerning loader/implement dollies, I'll review them and construct one or two so I can fill the garage more efficiently.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the 790!
