It seems that the seals and maybe the bearings in my 60" MMM are shot. Loud noise, leaking oil, and the PTO drive shaft shows alot of play. The mower has 800+ hrs on it.
Does anyone have info about rebuilding this gearbox? What type of seals and bearings? JD sells new gearboxed for around $400. Wow, that seems a bit steep to me. This gearbox says "PEERLESS" on it. It may be eaisier to just get a new one. Can some one reccomend a replacement for less than the JD price?
