5E loud turbo?

Not sure if it is normal but at full pto speed under load (using moco), I have a very loud high pitch turbo noise. It was always there but seems to have gotten louder, almost defening now. Maybe its just me thinking its louder? Anyone else have this noise? Its a 2012 5093E with about 400 hours.

It might just be me, but turbo whine is music to my ears. :thumbsup:
I can't speak to your particular tractor but generally this turbo whine will increase under load.

I wouldn't call it a turbo whine, more like an ear peircing screech, can't even hear the radio.

Can't tell from here of course but you might have a bearing going to pot. Have you shut down the tractor while hot without letting it idle for the recommended time to cool the turbo bearings?

I always allow warm up and cool down time, has had proper oil changes etc. I would say it has normal turbo noise up to about 2000 rpm but at 2400 rpm it is way louder then I think it should be under load.

Check for any air leaks .
An air leak between the turbo, aftercooler and motor can make a load whistle.

Update: finally got it into the dealer, turbo is shot, vanes were rubbing against housing. They are also replacing the blower motor switch and trying to find the cause of the gearshift rattle. I would suspect the turbo was either defective from factory or the tractor was transported to the dealer facing the wind and the turbo was spooling with no oil.
