So here is what I've got a harbor freight hand pump, golden rod fuel filter 1", 20' of fuel hose, Goez 3/4' locking fuel nozzle. chain fall drum lifter. The output tube from pump is 1" od thin wall tube. Planning on a 1" male npt to 3/4 pvc glue with a piece of 1 inch heater hose and clamps to make the connection between pump and filter. What I want to do have drum, pump, filter hose nozzle all sort hung together so it can sit under the pole barn for easy fillups, but also use chain and forks to be moved to whatever needs to be filled, Ideas please

I might rethink your whole setup though. The tractor shows a 20 gallon fuel tank and the go cart shows 8 gallons. Those hand crank pumps are about 16 turns per gallon, so that's like 400 cranks to fill both vehicle tanks. And you'd only get 2 fills out of a full barrel.

How much fuel do you expect to use per year? I'd be seriously considering getting a bulk supplier to bring a tank out and fill it once a year or so. At the very least, consider a larger transfer tank with an electric pump, but those setups can cost a few hundred dollars for a 100 gallon unit.

I use a drum also as my fuel needs are not that great, but I have a 12v transfer pump that stays on the drum. Added a longer wire with alligator clips to reach the battery on the tractor. It seems like the first idea you had would be prone to leaking eventually especially with pvc and hose clamps. I like the pallet stand and plan to make one for my fueling drum.:2cents:

Something like that needs to be strapped to the pallet.

Anyway, I use a 50 gal tank form a reefer and built a stand for it that allows it to sit horizontally. I use my pallet forks to put it on/off the bed of the PU truck. When I get home, I put the fuel stand on two HF dollies and store in the pole barn. I use a $120 12 volt transfer pump I got on Amazon that came with hoses and a pump nozzle. Used black iron fittings where needed. I use either a 12v booster pack or alligator clips to the battery to power the pump. Works very well

I used the pallet forks to move it to my neighbors place when he ran out of fuel. He loved it.

PVC seems like a poor option IMHO. As does the chain fall drum lifter.

Ok here is my logic, don't use enough fuel to have a large local filled tank. However when it looks like Hurricane is coming I want to get several drums filled with off road diesel and off loading them from the back of my F350 is easier with chain hoist. A 12vdc pump is good idea but quality one from fillrite is expensive and I nagging feeling a cheap one will fail when I need it most. Hopefully my arm won't I already have several 110v transfer pumps that I could use and 12vdc to 110ac converter rigged in my F350 to deliver limited 110vac at work sites for hand tools. I have pallets laying around. In normal year I may only use one drum, so if I fill three for storm, the other two will sit sealed until I use them up. A large open tank vented in Florida is inviting problems. For a normal year my Rtv will use the most diesel with the tractor and mep802a gen eating small amounts. The diesel f350 sits full and gets little use. Twice I went through weeks on gasoline generator and finding fuel was dangerous at times. So when power goes down I be placing the genset and drums next to it. I have bung hole adapter that will let the genset refill itself from the drums without intervention. Other wise the stuff is in the barn or under the pole barn. I was hoping somebody might have used a hand pump setup and come up with better idea than my plan. If things are real bad I'll be driving around using my transfer pumps to suck diesel out tanks at stations with no power ie mad max

OK, that all makes sense, but I'd still attach pallets to the barrels and use forks if you have them. If not, you can still rig a sling system to each pallet for the chainfall.

And I have used the hand crank pump. That's what I have and why I know the 16 crank per gallon bit.

I bought a used 100 gal transfer tank and hand pump used years ago and mounted to a pallet. The hand pump is easy and reliable. I find it easier to load and unload with the fork and the pallet. I think the drum mounted to the pallet like above would be easy.

Sounds like you have your mind made up how you want to proceed.A couple of things. I'm not sure what the price spread is on offroad in Fl. but in La. It is not enough to lose sleep over on a 55 gal purchase. If you purchased undyed diesel and the storm never hit you could pump it in your F350 so that it doesn't go stale in the drum. Diesel grows an algae and after that long in a drum, even sealed, I would not want to run it in my tractor or generator. It will cause injector problems. The second thing to consider if you really want plastic in your lines check out the following link. FillRite makes a 12v pump for just your purpose and It sells for $144. Pumps 10 gal min.
