My 541 bucker cylinder died on me. I found an exact replacement cylinder(John Deere wanted $890) from Magister Hydraulics for $147 with free shipping!!! Ask for Jilvanny the sales manager and he will give you a better deal. My cylinder is perfect. Hope others will check them out. Mike Mount
Hello Mike Mount,
Do you happen to remember part number for the bucket cylinder that you got from Magister Hydraulics as replacement for the one John Deere sells for $890? I broke the thread end of the rod on one of my cylinders (AH228450 Hydraulic Cylinder) and will need to replace the cylinder and would like to use the Magister Hydraulics Cylinder. For the price I will replace both cylinders on my JD 5320 with the 541 loader. Thanks for any information you can give me. Larry Hatfield
Thanks for your help. You tube video gave me what I needed. Larry
Could you please let me know what part numbers they have that fit the 541? The lift and bucket curls too if they have them.
Also, if you have to modify anything to get them to fit.
Thank you. Have you considered the Deere rebuild kits? I need to rebuild ours, but 1st I need to make the spacer that fills in the tube's internal groove...You put the spacer in to keep the keeper from falling into the groove while removing the packing or whatevertheycallit.

As a matter of fact I ordered the rebuild kit from my John Deere dealer yesterday. I did the repair on the cylinder rod to where it is usable. I have a lathe and was able to make the internal groove packing ring out of PVC pipe so I could remove components in the end of the cylinder. The 2 seals in the acking as you call it were little hard to get out but can be done with small screwdrivers, I used 2. I値l let you know how reassemble goes and I test everything out.. Larry
If you are for sure going the repair route I would go and buy the repair kits from John Deere as it has the internal groove tool to remove everything from the cylinder.. Larry
Use bondo if you don’t have the filler piece.
