54\" ver. 60\" removal

I have removed my 54" mmm, so I know how that goes but this weekend I will be doing the 50 hrs. hydro change on my sons BX2230 which has a 60"mmm. Is the removal of 60"mmm the same as 54"? Can I drain the hydro oil without removing the mmm? Thanks for comments.

Can you? Yes. Will it be easy? Definately no. Take it off. Your job will go much better.

60" and 54" will R&R the same, just have to manuver the 60" around the tires a little more.

I used to put plywood down and pull the 60" MMM out from under my BX2200...because I don't have cement on the floor of my shed, just crushed stone.

Now I just pull the mower out without using the plywood.

Not a big deal...not young anymore either... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: 54\" ver. 60\" removal

My manual says to drive over MMM. I took it off first by lifting the tractor with Hi Lift Jack - because I did not want to run the tractor.
Drove over it to get it back on, works just fine.
