5200 injection pump

Anyone know the trick involved in separating the drive gear from the pump shaft? I didn't see an access cover on the timing gear front cover so I thought maybe the pump was simply a splined shaft. Parts book shows gear held on with a nut(so much for it being that easy). Also shows a plug of some sort threaded into timing cover where it might line up with said nut. Is there maybe some special tool that threads into this hole and provides a trick to pop the gear loose once the nut is backed off?

Here is a URL on the 3029 engine. It does not appear to be for the 5200, but is should answer your questions, hopefully. Make sure you mark the pump location, so you do not mess up the timing when putting it back together.

I think one removes plug(parts key #6) to access the nut/washer on inj pump shaft. Be sure and put engine on #1 TDC before removing the nut.
