I have a 5234D and the throttle will very slowly back down as you are operating the tractor making it necessary to adjust the throttle back to where you originally had it set. This is a known problem with the throttle assembly. The culprit is a bad friction washer. Your Cub dealer should have a bulletin on it. My tractor is in the shop right now getting a new friction washer installed. You can take a look at the friction washer in your parts manual.
