50 hour service pricing

I was wondering what is a good price for a 50 hour service on a ck30hst? I called the dealer and a secretary I suppose stated it was just over a $100. I thought it would be higher.

Sounds low to me. I just did my 50 hour on my ck25 hst. Fluids and the three filters cost me about 180. Of course I paid a bit high for fluids as I bought from dealer, but even so at least 125-130 for parts and than labor?? I think if your up for it do it yourself. Its really easy. Took me a couple of hours. Depends on where you live. Doing it in freezing temps no fun.

I was a bit hesitant but once I got started it was actually a good experience for a new owner such as myself

Sounds low.. Maybe she didn't include a transmission fluid change in the price.

I just changed my motor oil, tranny oil and filters on my DK 35.
11 gallon Napa hydraulic/transmission fluid $110
Transmission filter $30
6 quarts Rottella T sythetic motor oil $25
Motor oil filter $7
I had appr. $172 in materials just to do the service myself..

Wow, if that's their estimate go for it. But I suspect whomever oversees the invoices for service might have a thing or two to say about it.

I did my own 50hr service last year for about what dkvince estimated, somewhere between $170-180. I would definitely recommend any new owner to do their own service if they are even remotely mechanically inclined and have decent work space this time of year to operate in. It was a piece of cake and a good learning experience. But if you can get it done for $100 and don't have a warm dry space to work in then maybe............................it's not such a bad way to go either.

I'll be doing my 100 hour service. I know it's not as intensive but just on principle I'll be doing it.

Why not the hydro and gear oil too? There is a lot of filings on the magnets inserted in the drain plugs after the first 50hrs that I sure wouldn't want floating around any longer than necessary...............

$100.00? like others have already said, you can't do it all yourself for that price. I get my Hyd oil at sams club for 35 a 5 gal bucket. And it takes more than two to do it. They can't be doing everything for that kind of money. the two hyd filters and oil filter alone cost over 30 bucks.
