Fellas sorry to open this up again, but after looking back through the last threads on this subject it appears that the thread I was looking for has been deleted. I recall that someone wrote about how the front differential was geared slightly different in some instantances ( I know this is true as I have read about this in the past, but this thread is most likely the easiest way to find this info again ). But I do not recall weather this was lower ( higher number ) or higher ( lower number). What I need to know is if the intention was to have the front differential pull alittle faster or slower than the rear.
This information is not for my tractor, but for my truck. I am having some problems and I believe that it may have something to do with this subject. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ditto on what EFC said. When you make a turn the front wheels have to travel father then the rear.

The gears are different due to the different size tires. It has nothing to do with cornering. Try turning around on drive pavement in 4WD if you would like to see some gear wrap up. You will know right away that something is wrong. The gears are matched for straight forward driving. This is so that the gears do not bind up.

I see you are new here, but I assure you, TBN has been around a long while with over 408,227 successful posts. There is not really a need to test this forums ability to post. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
