I have a 475 Di. It has a 3 cylinder engine. My question is online I find 475 Di with 4 cylinder engine why and when did they change to 4 cylinder engines?
I also found out that the PTO speed runs at different speeds according to high and low transmission settings instead of engine speed.
I like this little tractor I can work it all day on a cup full of fuel.
Thanks

I don't know when they changed the 475 Di to the 4 cylinder motor, but I am curious if you have the same 3 cylinder motor that is in the later 350 Di. I have a 350 Di, and that is a strong tractor. I use it mainly for bush hogging and plowing a 3.5 ac field. You can't even tell that the 5' bush hog is behind you. It'll also run all day without a single compliant.

Regarding the PTO, you may want to get advice from a dealer or from Mahindra. With the 350 Di, you are not supposed to run the PTO in the high range.

I have a manual for the 475DI, 485DI, and 575DI, dated August '98. It shows the 475 with a three cyl. engine. If they changed, it was after the manual was published. There is a PTO speed selector on the left side of tractor below the clutch pedal. It has a Hi, Lo, and neutral. All brush cutters are intended to run on the low setting, as are all PTO driven equipment (as far as I know). The lo PTO speed is 540 rpm@2058 engine rpm and hi PTO speed is 1000 rpm@ 2043 engine rpm. Hope this helps.
