4700 another whats it worth post

We had decided against buying anything this year but after pricing renting a tractor and buying we are leaning toward buying. We have signed a 5 year contract for some work so I can pay for a tractor. We found a 2000 4700 with a little over 1400 hours on it. 12 speed power reverser tranny, 4wd, with 4 new R1 tires which is what I was wanting for a shade over $14000. I have searched all the sites and have yet to find one that cheap anywhere. I have driven the tractor and all appears to be good on it. Everything is in working order. It has been serviced at the dealer and they have all records. The only down fall I can see is the appearence I would rate it as good but not excellent. It has no major flaws just a lot of scratches on the fenders like they were not concerned about running into tree limbs. One small ding in the grill. This tractor was parked in the grass I could not find any leaks anywhere on it, the ground was clean under it. That is about the max on hours I wanted to buy, but I feel after looking at the service records it has had good care mechanically and should have a lot of hours left in her.

So what is she worth? Sound good or bad?

It sounds like a good deal, is it close to needing a clutch is the question

I don't believe it is but you never know. What does a new clutch run for them?

Have you consider a 5 year lease on a new new?

As long as it doesn't break you are probably money ahead for $14K.

I would price a new equivalent one if you can to compare.
