4600 ford tractor

I have a 4600 ford diesel tractor gaining oil. It's not colored,muddy, smells like diesel. I've been told that i have a fuel injector leaking. is there anything else could cause that to happen.

Could be the fuel lift pump. If the diaphram has a hole in it fuel can leak past the pump directly into the base.

No lift pump on a 4600. Could be a fuel injector, injector pump shaft seals, or less likely a failed thermostart unit. Could also be a failed power steering pump, but that would not smell like diesel.
