I just replaced the green coolant in my 2004 Mahindra 4510. I replaced it with DexCool, the orange General Motors coolant. I then read the most recent Popular Mechanics magazine and it said one should never use other than the original color as it can be hard on gaskets, water pumps etc.
I am not sure what the original color coolant in the 4510 was, perhaps mine was changed before I bought it. Does anyone know the original color and has anyone had trouble with the other colors? If so I guess I will rechange it again. I also used green in my Dodge Ram truck and perhaps that is wrong also. Thanks

I don't think putting Dex-cool in was a good idea, I would drain it well ( the radiator and block) flush it with clear water and fill it with regular ethalene glycol. (Please excuse the spelling) If someone knows I am wrong about this, please chime in.

Drain the "Dexcool" for sure. It should be filled with a low silicate anti freeze. I think that the "Fleetgaurd" that is available at tractor supply should serve just fine, or just get it at the dealer. The cost should not be the deciding factor since it is something that is drained every couple of years.

Get the Dexcool out ASAP.

I have a 4110 and I use the green stuff. I never really thought about about color after having radiator fixed. I read the PM article too. Interesting. I wonder, in a few years there will be more colors antifreeze to choose from than there is Coke to choose from.

Cheers Coffeeman

Keep in mind that there are coolants made for diesel engines that deal with the cavatation around the upper cylinder, you may want to consider such a coolant.
