Looking at 45-50 hp tractor to manage 10 acres of mixed wooded/mowing property. Primarily interested in Loader and grapple work. Only dealers close are Kioti, New Holland, JD, and a Massey rep. Like Kubota but nearest rep is 45-minute drive. Not looking for top of line models, but one with hst. Thoughts?

Can't help you really. Your avatar nor posting states your regional locale.

Sorry. New to the forum. I’m in southwest Virginia.

I have a Kubota a little below the hp your looking at. Really happy with it. Not sure if Messicks is close but they have a lot of respect amongst us Kubota owners.

About 5 hours. Closest kubota dealer is 45-minutes. wondering if kubota l4701 or mx5200 is worth the extra drive over kioti 5010, new Holland workmaster or boomer in 45-50 hp (kioti/NH dealer 5 minutes away)

Kioti DK4510 HST
NH Boomer 45 (T4B)
MF 2850 M
JD 3046 R

Other options if you don't mind looking a little further...

Branson 4820h
TyM 494 hst
LS 345 he

You get more tractor for your money with these, but there are a lot of variables that only you can answer.

Those models over kubota is your recommendation, did I read that correctly? I have a mix of flat and hilly land

The TYM line is really coming on strong. S Korea I think? I chose Kubota because my dealer has 3 locations within 25 miles. Closest is 3 miles down the road. I live on state line and I think they do a heck of a business with our Hoosier friends to the south.

How often will you go to the dealer? Typical home use is 100 hours a year or less. You will need to do an annual engine oil change and transmission oil change every few years. That's like one trip a year to the dealer at most.

My dealer's 3 hours away. I have been there twice in four years, once to test drive and once to pick up a backhoe. They mail the filters I need for maintenance.

It really depends, I wasn't trying to make a statement about Kubota either way. The L4701 would be the nearest equivalent. Among those models, the 4701 has the lowest capacity loader and is a lighter tractor. You would have to step up the the Grand L. 4760 to be comparable, you didn't want high end though... ;)
