4410 Trouble light

A buddy of mine just bought a 4410 and while bush hogging with it he says after a few minutes, a flashing light with a wrench lights up. The PO said to use a higher RPM but that still doesn't work. The light will reset after turning off the tractor but comes back on when using to PTO. I told him I would check with you guys because I don't have a JD. Thanks

Step one...call a dealer!

That light is telling you that the self diagnosis is detecting a problem. Call your dealer. I have a 4410. When I over work the FEL ie trying to push a root out and picking up the front end and try to back up the light will blink, and I will not move until I "unload" the FEL hydraulics. Then the light goes off and I can resume forward backward motion. If this is why your light is on I hope I have helped if not call your dealer.

The blinks are a code consisting of various combinations of 4 long and short blinks that repeat after a pause. Sometimes you have to watch it for a while to pick up on the pattern. It is possible to have more than one error code which can add to the confusion.

If you can read the code and report it back, someone here can tell you what it means. The difference between a short and long blink is the time that the light is on, not the time between blinks. The code should be something like "short-long-short-short."
