4400 blowing fuses

4400 hydro is blowing fuses at the headlight switch ( 30 amp?) and the taillamp, hazard fuses are blowing also. Any suggestions? Headlamp switch bad?

Do you leave the machine outside? It sure does sound like the switch went bad...do the fuses blow only when the switch is operated?

Yes, the fuses blow when switch is used. and, yes, the machine has been sitting out in the weather.

Has to be a short. Unfortunately, these can be the most troublesome problems to diagnose. I agree with Kennyd -- look for a bad switch first. You can confirm a short in the switch with a VOM meter or just replace it.

If the switch isn't filled with water, I'd look for a pinched or worn wire that is grounding out.
