This happened a half year ago ..... http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/358732-4310-runs-9-seconds-dies.html ....and now I'm stuck again.
I have verified that the timer module cuts power to the fuel shutoff solenoid pull-in coil after a couple seconds, as it should, but the hold-in coil loses power after another 10 seconds at which point the tractor quits of course....no fuel. If I pull the solenoid the tractor starts and runs normally until the fuel is manually shut off. Those 2 coils get power thru the engine run relay which is energized by the computer. What condition is the computer sensing that causes it to shut off power to the solenoid? Or is something else going on? The 2 main circuits that initially feed that relay, the neutral switch (bypassed) and seat switch circuits are working properly. Also, unrelated or related??.... the hydraulics work but the tractor won"t move during any of the run time whether the shut off solenoid is properly mounted or pulled. There are no error codes.
