How does that look?

I will also want to add the telescoping draft links...

Rocky,

The tractor price looks pretty good. The back hoe I can't say much cause I just have never looked at them.

The loader does seem hi though to me. I payed $2500.00 for mine with a 60" bucket. Now mine is a New Holland 7308 but I would think the prices would be pretty close. Some of the other John Deere people can tell you better.

Mike,

I gave $3500 for a 460 loader. I'd think he could come down some on the 430.

In all fairness, I need to figure out if the package price is OK, I know that the individual items include other componants (SCV's, Power Beyond, etc) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You might want to look at a 72" or (4 in 1) bucket so it covers your wheel tracks. I had dealer turn my rear tires around to give me more width on hills.

I checked your profile - how does the 4310 handle that 72 foot MMM? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Actually sounds like you have a nice setup....

Bought mine (4310)last October. No haggle price at my dealer. Email me if you want their #. Some Dealers hate this website. Some embrace it.

4310,ehydro,R4's,Dual SCV's,folding ROPS,$15500
420 Loader w/ standard bucket $2300
430 Loader w/ standard bucket $2800 (I Chose this one)
LX5 mower w/ slipper clutch $740

All these prices reflect purchasing at once as package deal. I know the added hydraulics cost more for the backhoe option. I was wondering if part of the backhoe price included any of the extra hydraulics needed? I would love a backhoe, I know the 4310 can hold up to the 48 model, is there any reason not to buy the bigger, longer reaching backhoe instead of the 47? I know the price is a bit more for the 48. Just wondering...Kyle

The 4310 handles the 72" mower ok - cuts like good toro push mower. If your ground is somewhat hilly you will scalp some of the grass turf. There are four gauge wheels (the front ones rotate) to help, plus a roller at the front of the mower. Drives off the mid PTO - Works best if you have the third remote - They mount it on the rear fender. Also you can use it for other attachments. I have some hills (sand mound) the 4310 works fine on level ground - regular grass - If you have a hill it does labor the tractor somewhat - On regular grass it fires the grass out like a snowblower. If you need more seat time you can mow it twice - You never have to rake and it spreads it out real good. It's like having a garden tractor with a 6' cut. Talk of the neighorhood. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks for the response on the pricing! One of my clients is a car dealership that is big into internet selling. They have no haggle pricing, and love for their customers to have all the information that the internet offers. Somrtimes mis-informationl but overall its OK. The worst deals are at the places that "everone can afford no matter what their income/credit"

For the same reason to try amd figure out if the 4310 will work, instead of the 4410 (4710...) For a little more you can get so much more. Until I can't afford one. But, for the cost, I think I have a lot more to learn about backhoes, with seemingly the least info out there. I go back and forth as to whether I should even get one compared to hiring out (say to a retired guy down the road) or renting (nah, I've been all through that one...)

cwave,

My New Holland 29 hp handles my 72" MMM pretty good so the JD4310 should have no problems at all. I do have to slow down some going up this big hill I have. The thing I don't like about the 72" is the scalping, even though you have scalp protection you still get into troulble. I wished I had my 60" back. The other thing I get with mine is going sideways on a hill you can get one side of the mower to lift up. Not a big deal.

Thanks!

I was actually noting that cwave has accidently listed his mower as 72' not 72" in his profile. Not like I"d EVER make a mistake,, like THAT.,.,.

I am sure that the 72" size would do much better. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey cwave and others with an ehydro, please do yourself a big favor and make sure your loadmatch switch is turned on. It makes a big difference in the performance of the tractor under load. Hill climbing will be much better. I have mowed some pretty heavy stuff with a 4310 and a 72" MMM. With load match turned on it keeps the engine speed up, even when going up hills.

And for those of you with snow right now, some of the most fun I ever had was blowing snow with a 4410 ehydo. Turn on the load match switch, put the tractor in B range, start moving at the fastest speed I was comfortable with, set cruise and watch for obstructions. With cruise on, load match would automatically slow down the tractor as I hit deep snow and let it speed up as I hit clear spots.

Alas, the tractor was not mine, but it's nice to be friends with tractor owners.

I have heard some buzz about xx30 Kubotas bogging down on hills. It sounds like loadmatch is not just a bell or whistle.

rockyridgefarm,

I got the 48 backhoe and you should be able to negotiate a 48 backhoe for the current package price. You will not regret getting the 48. You will get a lot more for your money by going with the 48.

I stuggled with this dilema myself and after using both and looking at the small price increase and large performance gap the choice became clear. Not sure if you'll be using the BH for stump removal or anything like that, but that is one area where the 48 will shine and the 47 might not be up to it.
