4310 drive controller

i have a jd 4310 hydro and i understand that there was a problem with the drive controllers/computer on some a while ago, where can i find out which ones?

If a search doesn't turn up a post here, then I'd go to the Deere dealer and talk to them.
The main mechanic(and friend) at my Deere dealer said there were some initial computer settings early on that needed some re-programming, but other than that, he said there were no problems with them (that was after two years from introduction).

the cruise control doesn't work at all but the max speed works

I replaced both console switches

both cruise and max speed use the T2 MFWD speed sensor so it doesn't appear to be that

I have the maint. manual and looking at the wiring diagrams I don't see any other parts but connections it could be


I checked the brake switch with a multimeter and when I press on the brakes the switch functions

there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with forward petal pot as it runs ok

would the cruise indicator light being out cause any thing

I did occasionally get a fault indication about the mfwd sensor, short long long short

what is the easiest way to get at the mfwd and flywheel sensor? for someone with stiff joints?

any help you could give would be appreciated
