On my jd 4300 the lever to lift the 3 point feels really loose. When I lift the lever to raise the 3 point the lever just falls back down very slowly. Is there a spring or something that I can adjust. If I hold the lever the 3 point will remain at the same height. I cant find any thing on the parts diagram.

It looks number 10 in the drawing is a friction washer, and the #10's are spring cup washers, nut #5 threads on to the control shaft and pulls everything together.
I'd bet the washers are worn or the nut has loosened over time. You might carefully snug up the nut, but be careful and don't tighten it much and mess up the shaft
