My wife was using my 430 and slammed on the brakes, which resulted in the brakes jamming. The throddle will not move forward at all, but will move slightly in reverse. The parking brake lock is in the unlocked position, but will not move, either. Where might the jam be located? I'd just as soon not have to take the seat and fenders off if at all possible.

Thank you.

When I bought my first jd 420 it did that too. The park brake release rod bends if you don't push the brakes in when you release them. If you press the brakes hard and pull up on the release hand they should release

That was indeed what the problem was, though I initially couldn't get the parking brake to release. I had also forgotten which was the drive position of the parking brake and which was the brake position. It wasn't until I had the fenders off, and the side panel door off, and the floor pan off, that I found that it was the parking brake latch. After prying it up, everything works fine.
Since I now have everything exposed, I'm going to give it a power washing before putting it back together.

Always good to find an easy fix, and have all exposed for a good cleaning.
