All,
I'm looking at putting a loader on my 4200 to do light chores around the house. I've been searching ebay for a decent used deere unit, what model numbers will fit my machine.

Secondly is there another brand you would reccomend, ie. Bush Hog, Dunham Lehr etc?

Thanks

I would stick with Deere. But if things just don't work out, Bush Hog is highly rated.

Deere loaders: 420 and 430. 300, 300x and (maybe) 300CX. Of these the 430 and 300cx/300x are the better choices.

Do you already have a DSCV? (joystick?)

Finally, just for grins, you might want to compare selling your machine and buying a loader equiipped one, especially a 43x0 or 44x0. You may actually come out ahead over retrofitting one on the 4200, especially if that means adding a DSCV.... These machines are better suited to loader use than the 4200 - so even if that route costs more, you would be less likely to be dissatisfied with the results.

For new equipment, both the 3120 and 3205 would offer better performance in roughly the same package...
