4110, what size attachments....

Now that my Mahindra 4110 is getting plenty of summer use I need to start planning for next spring's garden work. What size of plow and disk are best suited for the 4110?

I was thinking along the lines of a two bottom 14" plow and a six foot 3 PT disk. The soil is heavy clay, so I know I won't be able to run the plow to its beams the way I have done my father-in-law's Ford 4000 with a double 16" plow.

We have a fall and spring consignment equipment sale within 20 miles of home, so I may be able to find a good deal on some used equipment.

I would think the 4110 would pull the fire out of what you mentioned. The old Ford N series were much smaller and lower hp (mid 20s if I recall) tractors, they were rated for 2 bottom plow. I would keep alot of shear pins with that clay.

Keith, Your 4110 would do a nice job with 2-16's and an 8' disc. Good luck at your auction.

Today I located a 2-12 plow for $175. It comes with an extra set of new shins and points. The colters are off of it, but come with the plow and are said to be in good shape. I will look at it tomorrow, but it sounds like a good buy.

Has anyone had any trouble using a 2-12 set of plows on the 4110?
