Tractor
2007 4110 Mahindra w/ M112 loader.
I've had a chance to put some seat time in on my recently purchased 4110.
Did some pasture clipping with the 6' bushhog and mowed the yard with a 6' finish mower, so far so good. I really like the tractor as I knew I would. Only complaint is I wish the fuel tank was larger.
Loader is easy to remove as I like to have it off when mowing and bushhogging.
Just need to get my pallet forks remodeled to fit the Mahindra loader and add the skid steer qa plate to them.
Also need to get my old Ford 1910 out of here!!
Overall I am very happy with my purchase of this tractor.

What size is the tank on the newer ones like yours? Mine holds a little less than 10 gal. and running my 6' cutter at 2500 rpm for heavy cutting I get almost exactly an hour per gallon. With loader work I set it at about 1400 rpm and overide the throttle quite often when transporting and I get even better "mileage". Enjoy your new tractor - it's a real workhorse for it's size.

You wish that tank was bigger until you paid to filler up. He he. I noticed when I was bush hoggin, it used more fuel than anything else, which was expected. How many hours are you at and how much fuel you burning Jeff77?

Thanks for the replies.
The tank is a little shy of 8.75 gallons.
I'm most likly getting around an hour per gallon while bushhogging. It seems like I'm doing better on fuel since I've filled up out of my home tank with
Co-op Dieselex. I was using what the dealer filled it with after I bought it.
I really enjoy operating my new 4110 and yes it is a real workhorse for it's size.
So far the tractor is at 14 hours, I've put 11 hours on myself it had 3 on it when I picked it up.
It seems like the fuel use is getting better as the engine is breaking in. I'll keep better track of it next time I fill up.

Never had that problem! :) A tank of fuel seems to go on forever. Guess I'm not using the red beast nearly enough!

I do have a heckuva time filling the fuel tank though. I always make a huge mess filling up with my 5 gallon cans... even with my "fool-proof" monster funnel. I really do need to get one of those 28 gallon diesel fuel tanks with the pump... but I'd still end up filling *it* from those dang 5 gallon jugs... so what's the point?

It's probably the screen that causes the problem, I think it causes the diesel to foam. You can get a funnel with a screen in the bottom and pull the other screen our of the neck of your filler on the tractor, and it should reduce foaming in the tank during refilling.

That's exactly what I have done Keith. I remove the stock filter/strainer entirely and rely on the one in the monster funnel. I still manage to over-fill and make a royal unholy mess each and every time. Guess I'm just not very good at knowing when full is full.

On the other hand, it tends to keep my 3-point hitch and PTO whistle clean! ;)

That does make it tough to see when the fuel tank is full. Those funnels can sure hold a lot of fuel, with no place to go when your tank gets full.

You guys are gonna laugh at me but I set the 6 gallon jug next to the fill hole. Then I get the old syphon that is used to fill kerosene heaters. You know, the ones you squeeze the end to get it flowing. It's no speed setter but it sure is a lot cleaner and not a back breaker.
I always remembered my dad, when I very young, he would slap the old metal can on top a metal funnel and let it rip on the WD45's. I tried that once on mine and thought the EPA was gonna have to get involved, lol.

Your all most likly going to hate me but I have my 300 gal. gravity flow tank left from when I was farming.
My father-in-law and I split the cost of 200 gallons at a fill which last us about a year.
I spent some seat time on his 2910 Kubota mowing their grass yesterday (they're on vaction for 8 weeks).
What's this I hear that Mahindra is going to discontinue the 4110 this model year?

That's what I read also Jeff. I guess after they seen you got one, it was time to call it quits. Seriously though, it has raised an eyebrow here, but I also read parts should'nt be a problem for a long time to come. We shall see Bro, we are in the same boat as I have a 10 series also.....

Various stories have been around for a while now... and the 10-Series has already been cut back. Still, the 4110 supposedly remains a Mahindra best seller.

But let's be honest here. The 4110 is a TYM machine marketed by Mahindra. Now TYM wants into the American market in a big way. It just makes sense that at some point TYM and Mahindra have got to go their separate ways. Doesn't bother me one bit. There is zero question in my mind that parts will remain available for the rest of my lifetime.

And when it comes time to retire the red Beast... we'll just have to see if the next one wears a Mahindra or TYM badge! :)
