400x Cylinder repair help

I'm trying to install a new seal kit for my 400x bucket cylinder on my JD 4520 but I can't remove the shaft. I've removed the top snap ring but when I pull on the rod it seems to have another ring that is catching on the inside grove near the top of the cylinder. I can move the rod up and down but when pulling out, it's catching. Thought it may need more pull force so I hooked it up to my truck to pull apart but was not successful. Suggestions???

In your new seal kit is a orange plastic part push the end sleeve into the housing and see the grove and this plastic part fits into the groove. then quickly pull the shaft out of the cyl.
and use again when reinstalling the new seals it works . just make sure the part is fitting good in the grove.

Thanks Ken, it's nice living in "paradise" but everything has to be flown in, the local JD dealer doesn't carry much inventory. I'm waiting on delivery of the kit so I'll stop pounding and pulling. Doug
