In a few days, I will receive my new, and first tractor from the dealer. Pics will come when it shows up. Its the B2650 with loader and bh77 backhoe. The dealer was waiting for the 4 point mount to show, before they bring it out to me. My question is, I know this is a 3 point mounted backhoe, and that is not ideal from what I read, but what exactly is the 4th point????? Is this the subframe mount that I keep reading about?? If anyone could shed some light on this, that would be great!!!

Thanks in advance,

After a ton of searching, I just found a pic of the "4 point mount". It appears that yes, this is a subframe mount, that stays with the tractor, and there are 4 points to mount the backhoe to that. I was confused by the salesman stating that it was a 3 point mounted attachment and they " ADDED " a 4th point for stability. Yep, that makes no sense. Hoping to see this machine tomorrow, as I have some drain tile issues to fix right away.

I assume you have the TLB by now...I'm considering ordering a BH77 for my B2650 HSDC and am interested in your opinion on the hoe.

Only used the backhoe on a 40 foot long trench for a drain tile that collapsed. Ground was frozen, and I would say a 6" frost line. Although this is my first backhoe, I was thoroughly impressed with how much power it had. Made very quick work of the project, leaving me wanting to spend more time digging crap up!!! The only issue I have with the backhoe, is not really the backhoes fault, its the god awful seat on the tractor. Having to get off, reach in to unlatch the seat, turn it around, climb back on the tractor to move, and them re do the seat. In hindsight, I would have got the backhoe with the seat attached. More money, but it really does become a bother. Im perfectly happy, other than the seat, with the 2650. Its the perfect combo of power and size, for me at least.

Agree. The seat is a pain. Many times I'll reposition my tab by leaving the seat in the bh position and move the tractor by standing at the controls. One guy on here used a stick to engage the hst and move the tractor.

Yup. The seat is a pain, Worse in cold weather, because you have the parka to get caught on the controls. I would like more info on using the backhoe during frozen conditions. I want to clean out some cattails.

So is it possible to put the cab backhoe on the non-cab models?

The B26XX backhoes are frame mount. Not so easy to remove/attach. I always need help. This summer, I added a cement apron to the barn. A flat surface does make it easier. Of course, I guess there are adapters for anything...if you can afford and justify the cost. But I am not sure the B26 has enough guts to make it worthwhile - I would be very cautious . For the kind of work I do - anyway.

If that is what your salesman told you, he should probably sell something else besides tractors. The lack of product knowledge of some equipment sales people used to surprise me.
As far as the BH seat, if you had the separate seat you would still have to get off one seat to go to the other. I do not find the swivel seat you have inconvenient. It keeps the BH a little closer to the tractor and I can reach around to any of the tractor controls. That would be more difficult with a separate seat style.
Either one is better than a shovel!

The best solution are dedicated TLB's you can step thru and swivel in position.

Enjoy your new machine...they are nice!
