I have a JD 4300 with a 430 loader that I want to add a 3rd function to use for a grapple that I have. I have been looking at the W.R. Long electric over hydraulic kit aned it appears to meet my needs but not sure if this is the best option. I am not real sure on the specifics of my current set up (power beyond, etc.) and how to go about deciding what I need to install it. I definetly want bulk head fittings at the bucket end and the ability to ad TNT to the rear later. Suggestions?

Will be interested in what you find out. Some links to the options you are looking at would be helpful to better understand what you are talking about. Thanks

I added the 3rd SCV to my JD 4300 and added the HTL (top link). One of the best things I did to my tractor. :)

I would think you need the same 3rd scv kit as Beenthere.

I've got the 4310 which may be the exact thing, I installed 3rd scv on mine, it was inexpensive, not easy to install on mine with the power beyond already in place but not complicated, just a couple of hard lines and a lever.

If the 4300 is the same, the loader's valve already has a 3rd valve built in and you just need to tap off of it with the lines and the lever.

Well worth the effort, cost is minimal compared to what options you get out of it, I also have the HTL and love it, I use it with out exception, every time I operate the tractor.

The WR Long is a good kit-it will have everything you need to add independent control at the FEL.

TnT can be hard, but doable. As mentioned, you already have a 3rd valve-just no way to control it until you add the 3rd SCV option from JD that adds the handle on the right fender and all the hardware and hardlines for about $250. JD also has a kit that adds hardlines to the loader, and hoses that run under the tractor and connect to the 3rd SCV QD's (quick disconnects) at the rear. I posted the pictures of the two kits below.

Hey Kenny do you know the cost of that set up to extend hard line to loader? Just thinking about a home made grapple down the road.

I am not real keen on the lever mounted on the fender but it would work in a pinch. Does that kit come as one unit including the lines to run to the front or is that separate? I am just curious how difficult it could be to put either in.

Hope this does not scare you, the 3rd scv is a little pain in the butt, but well worth it.

This is on 4310

JB4310 What you have shown is a bit different from the 3rd SCV for the 4300. Likely due to the ehydro controls in the right fender whereas the 4300 kit mounts the lever for the 3rd SCV.

Difficulty just depends on the interest and mechanical skill of the doer. More for some, less for others. Does require removing the right rear wheel, seat, fender and some work on the control valve. Good directions came with mine. And I enjoyed the task.
I've not found the lever on the fender to be in the way.

Sorry John, I don't. I seem to recall in the $300 range maybe...

I guess I did not explain it well? The 3rd SVC kit does not include anything that runs to the front. That's the other kit I mentioned.

I understand your reservations about using that lever for a grapple since you'd have to take your hand off of the joystick to operate the grapple, but you will want/need this in the future anyway-it can be the first start of you TnT setup you mentioned.
