3pt snowblower recommendation

I would like to pick your collective brains on what size and make of blower I should mount on the back of my 1533. I have a long drive (1000 ft) but I plow most of it. I would be using it to push back banks and clean up around the yard.

I have a Puma (Pronovost) 64 behind my MF1533. I have only had it one season, but so far it has been great. Even on my gravel driveway, I only used 3 shear pins all season. I chose the 64 model primarily because I have a small shed. It covers the wheel tracks with no problem. I was told the 1533 could easily handle the Puma 72. I would recommend the hydraulic chute rotator on whatever blower you choose.

I looked at several when buying a few years ago. Loftness blowers work well and are well built. Check them out at the link below. BTW, I'd highly recommend either hydraulic or electric powered chute.

I think I'm going to go with the Allied Buhler. I like the features on the standard unit. Built quite heavy but still under the rating of my TPH. Nice big adjustable skid shoes. List price seems to be just under $1800. Hydraulic chute rotation bracket is $99. I'll do my own cylinders. I think I can add better cylinders for less money than the dealer wants.

The make a well built snow blower. Another one that is excellent is Lucknow.

Either way you can't go wrong.

I also have a Puma 64". Have used it for 3 years now with good results and no complaints. You just need to carry a lot of spare shear pins, but I think that goes for any blower used on gravel drives.

I'm also in the market for a 3PH blower and have been planning to purchase a new Allied/Buhler (both local dealers recommend this brand).

I finally got a chance to see one in person yesterday and was surprised by the design of the skids. They almost look like landing pads where the bottom is dish shaped. I guess I was expecting to see something more like skis.

Is this the common design for these? Do you guys use these or just adjust the top link to control the amount of bite?

My gravel drive is about 1,100' long with 1.5" diameter base rock and 3/4" w/ fines for a top layer.

I have a 5 foot Allied snowblower that I have had for 6 years. I have a 350 feet graval driveway and it works fine. Mine doesn't have the skid shoes but I can controll it with the hydrolics without too much trouble. I have only sheared 1 shear pin in all that time, I have also thrown a few stones into the yard. I live in the snow belt in northwestern PA and have been getting over 100 inches of snow the last few years. Good piece of equipment.

Anyone have any thoughts about 3 or 4 blades on the blower? It's a no cost option the the buhler.
