why does my 3pt not stay in the position I leave it in?
Most of the time I set it to about the height I want. Then I (apply pressure) to the leaver without moving the leaver and hope that it stays.
any thoughts on the problem.

Don't understand the problem. Can you fill in more info?

If it won't stay up, then the cylinder probably needs to be rebuilt.

On my New Holland you set the height you want...... and then can turn the speed control valve "closed" ......... It is located between your feet below the front of the seat and locks the position.

This is what has to be used with the brush hog.
