Backhoe 3pt position for Backhoe use

Here’s something I’ve wondered for a long time and haven’t seen mentioned here or in any operator manuals I’ve looked through.

When operating a 3pt mounted backhoe (BH4672 in my case) the 3pt hitch has an inch or two travel between the bottom (relaxed) position or top of it’s travel limited by the backhoe frame. Obviously you don’t want it driving up against a hard stop but it does take a little movement out of the setup having some lift on it.

What is preferable or correct? What would put more stress on the tractor?

I do have the Kubota rail kit and the heavy duty wraparound top link bracket they recommend but curious about this detail of operating.

My 750 Woods has no play whatsoever once it's installed. The toplink bracing is solid and allows no movement. I still plan to find a subframe, but until then I try to be careful.

A backhoe without a subframe, is a top link attach point just awaiting failure.

I wasn’t looking to restart the subframe argument. It is a Kubota backhoe and has the Kubota rail kit. I don’t think there is too much concern if it’s used within its limits.

I’m just looking for advice on adjustment.

Gentleman,
Very few research and find out that a separate mounting support bracket is needed
for attaching the top link for a back hoe. I think that this is used for both
3 pt and sub frame mounted hoes.
I found this several years ago when pics showed up of tractors having
the top link damaged / housing.

Ask dealer selling backhoe attachment for 4 pt sub frame to make sure
that this is included.
Notice that the top link bracket is welded to the support, so bolt will not pull
through from housing.
