What has to be done on a bx2350 to make the 3pt hitch a power down also?

No regular tractors made in the last 30 years have power down except Belarus from Russia that I am aware of. What are you wanting to do?

Just seems like it would be nice to be able to put a little down force on a rake or grader blade

You are right that it ‘Just seems like it would be nice’ … It really would not be as handy as gravity, I have used a tractor with down pressure 3pt… very UN-handy… KennyV.

I'd bet if you had hydraulic lifting rods, like in a Top 'n' Tilt setup, that it could be done. But I'd personally just add weight to the implement because I'd be afraid that adding downward force at the mid-point of the lower links could bend them.

I had an old "power king" tractor that had down force on the TPH. It was OK I guess, but seems like I spent a lot of time with one wheel spinning do to loss of traction because of the down force. I don't miss the down force TPH at all.

My old IH300 Utility has downpressure on thr 3ph. But there's also a big pin you can pull out if you just want it to float so you have a choice. It works great for the post hole auger, but I havn't tried the auger yet on my B7800, so I can't say if it's better or not. I can't imagine that downpressure wouldn't always be an advantage with an auger if used sensibly. Only problem now is the 50 yr old tractor isn't as reliable and as easy to manoeuver around as the Kubota.

I have had a Ford 8N and now am the happy owner of a BX24. On the Ford I had a rear blade that had some removable suitcase weights. I kept the blade and the weights. I now have a York rake and the blade on the Kubota. If I need a little more bite for either I just hang one or both of the weights on the implement.

Isn't this the same as draught control as on larger tractors?

Nope… Draft control actually raises the 3pt. when the pull increases past a pre-set point, it is available on most tractors, but most tractors are not used for 3pt plowing, so this has become an option… KennyV.

The draft control is standard in larger farm tractors as most all are equipped for three point hitch tillage. As Jerry stated before the only one to have down pressure was from Russia in years. The IH two point hitch did have down pressure and if you knew how to run it you could really do some digging! There are adapters available to make it three point hitch and it is wise to pull the pin to allow the load to not have down pressure! Three point hitch equipment is not designed for down pressure! The tongue between the hitch and the ground engaging tool is normally not strong enough to handle the added weight.

I had an IH 300 Utility also. Easiest tractor to change a rear tire on!
